Ready for a ride?

It takes hard work and a true love of horses to keep even a small family-run breeding business flowing smoothly.  Bellevue Farm owners, Tim and Ava Campbell are dedicated horse lovers.  Determined to offer for breeding and sale only those individuals with obvious quality, movement and sound minds, they begin this newest journey in their lifelong commitment to their lovely equine partners.  Of course, Tim and Ava are not alone in the daily "toils" of operating a breeding business.  Their son, Wesley, and two daughters, Whitney, and Wynomi, are essential to the successful running of the farm.

While Ava has been starting and (re)starting horses for some years, her breeding experience began in 2002.  After acquiring, in partnership, a Sec. D Welsh Cob stallion, Coblynau Carmarthan, she began breeding Welsh Mountain Ponies, Welsh Cobs, and Welaras for the Hunter ring and Driving diciplines.  Those born and raised on the farm were started with the help of her two daughters, and successfully shown under saddle.

Sadly, in the winter of 2005, Coblynau Carmarthan or "Raffi" was humanely euthanized due to illness.  The loss was a severe blow to the family.  After long discussion and time spent just enjoying the horses they had, which included some of Raffi's offspring, the family's decision was made.  Moving their focus from the Welsh breeds to Thoroughbreds and Thoroughbred crosses promised a fresh start, and fewer painful reminders of the loss of their beloved stallion

Bellevue Farm is pleased to offer, for sale, some of Raffi's remaining offspring as they make the transition into the Sport Horse world.  See For Sale page.

Bellevue Farm has a new focus and more determination then ever to prove Mountain Pride a spectacular choice for Hunter and Sport Horse breeders.

"Rocky" has given the Campbells much joy and laughter during his transition from the racetrack to farm life.  His want-to-please attitude makes working with him a real pleasure.  Though he did not come away from the track "unscathed," he has given his trust and respect to Ava, and may, one day, take some time out from his career at stud to make some (hoof) prints in the show ring.

Ava and her oldest daughter, Whitney have become certified in Equine Reproduction through Clemson University, of South Carolina.  Special thanks to Jim and Julie Crump from Roanoke AI, in Roanoke, VA, who encouraged them to get the training and handle their stallion themselves.  They are thrilled to now be able to keep Rocky on the farm for the breeding season.  Both Ava and Whitney received full certification for collections and shipment of fresh, cooled semen, and eagerly await the opportunity to use their training and experience in the upcoming breeding season.

Please feel free to browse the Gallery page for more details on the Campbells and their future plans.
